Federal Minister for Energy Hamad Azhar gave an important explanation regarding the three-minute long call and the new tax on internet usage.
In a statement released on Twitter, Hamadazhar clarified that the Prime Minister and the Federal Cabinet had not approved additional taxes on calls and internet in the budget.
He said that before the budget was presented in the National Assembly, it was not included in the Finance Bill.
The PM and Cabinet did not approve the FED levy on internet data usage. It will not be included in the final draft of the Finance Bill (budget) that is placed before parliament for approval.

Federal Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen had announced in the budget presented in the National Assembly that FED was proposed to use mobile phone calls and internet data for more than three minutes.
More than three minutes of calls and internet as well as SMS messages have been FED.
Following the government’s announcement, users reacted strongly to the additional taxes on social media, demanding a reversal of the decision.
