Gwadar: A tsunami alert siren system has been installed in the coastal town of Pasni in Gwadar district of Balochistan.
According to details, a tsunami alert siren system has been installed in Pasni, Gwadar by the Meteorological Department. The department said that the siren will sound 12 to 15 minutes before the tsunami arrives.
According to the Meteorological Department, the siren system will warn people of a tsunami within a radius of one and a half kilometers.
A 4,000-square-foot Tsunami Shelter Home will also be built in Pasni with the cooperation of Japan. One part of the Tsunami Shelter Home will be reserved for women and the other for men.
It is to be noted that this month tsunami warning siren system has been installed at various coastal places of the country. This modern system has cost Rs. 3.5 crore. Siren systems were installed at Rehri Goth and Kemari in Karachi. That 3 tsunami siren systems have been installed in Pasni, Ormara and Gwadar in Balochistan.
