Britain’s Prince William has been criticized for speaking out in support of black players who did not score on penalty kicks in the Euro 2020 final.
Prince William, from his official account on the micro-blogging site Twitter, condemned the abuse of black players who did not score on penalty kicks in the Euro 2020 final.
Prince William’s statement did not go down well with royal fans, who reminded the Duke of Cambridge that his own family had treated his sister-in-law, Meghan Markle, the same way.
Prince William is being criticized by royal fans, citing a statement from the Duchess of Sussex.
Royal admirers have called William’s statement “hypocritical” because the prince did not once support his sister-in-law Meghan Markle, who has been the victim of racist behavior by his family, outside the palace or the royal family Condemns discrimination against Meghan Markle
One user wrote: ‘Prince William spoke of racist remarks against football players, I appreciate that but where was the support when Meghan Markle was being discriminated against, here Meghan even thought about ending her life because of such comments.
Another user wrote, “The black community would have welcomed William’s statement if he had condemned the racist attitude against Meghan, he is the king of the future.”
“He loves football players but not his own people and heritage,” the user added.
One user even wrote, comparing the two royal couples, “It shows that it would not be difficult for William and Kate to make a public statement condemning racism against Meghan Markle, but perhaps they did.” He did not condemn Meghan Markle out of jealousy of fame.
It should be noted that black players who did not score on penalty kicks in the Euro 2020 final are facing abuse on social media.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson and the Football Association also condemned the biased attitude, saying it was dangerous to discriminate against players in this way.
Police, on the other hand, have launched an investigation into the targeting of players on social media.
