ISLAMABAD: The National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) has proposed to increase the number of holidays from three to five on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha.
According to details, the National Command and Operations Center has decided to extend the holidays given on the occasion of Eid. The NCOC has proposed to extend the holidays from July 20 to 24.
On the instructions of the NCOC, the Home Ministry has prepared a summary of five holidays on Eid-ul-Adha. The Home Ministry will send a summary of the holidays to the Federal Cabinet for approval.
It may be recalled that some time ago, Federal Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry had said in a media briefing that the NCOC wanted a five-day Eid holiday but the federal cabinet has approved a three-day Eid holiday.
Fawad Chaudhry said that there would be Eid holidays on July 21, 20 and 22.
Earlier, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid while addressing a news conference said that on Eid, the entire week may be a holiday but the final decision will be taken by the federal cabinet.
