Federal Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry has said that there is no possibility of any change in the Eid holidays after the decision of the federal cabinet.
Speaking on ARY News’ Powerplay program, Fawad Chaudhry said that three Eid holidays have been announced by the Interior Ministry and it is not possible to change the holidays after the decision of the federal cabinet. Prime Minister Imran Khan is not in favor of more holidays. It is true that the Prime Minister had talked about two holidays in the cabinet.
The National Command and Operations Center has proposed to increase the holidays given on the occasion of Eid, while the NCOC has proposed to extend the holidays from July 20 to 24.
On the instructions of the NCOC, the Home Ministry has prepared a summary of five holidays on Eid-ul-Adha and will send a summary of the holidays to the Federal Cabinet for approval.
It may be recalled that after the cabinet meeting, Federal Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry had said in a media briefing that the NCOC wanted a five-day Eid holiday but the federal cabinet had approved a three-day Eid holiday.
