The three-day physical remand of four accused in a case of harassment of a boy and a girl in Islamabad has been extended.
The court also ordered the police to produce the four accused on July 20.
Earlier during the hearing, the four accused Usman Mirza, Hafiz Ata-ur-Rehman, Farhan and Idris Qayyum Butt were produced in the court of Judicial Magistrate Waqar Gondal.
The court asked the investigating officer how many days have elapsed for the physical remand of the accused.
The investigating officer replied that one accused Idars Qayyum Butt has been remanded in custody for 10 days and the other accused have been remanded in custody for 9 days. The money snatched at the time of the incident was recovered from the house of the accused. They are ready to pay Rs. 11 lakh 25 thousand taken.
The court asked the investigating officer who took the money.
The investigating officer replied that accused Usman Mirza used to take money and distribute it among the rest.
The court asked accused Usman if he had taken the money.
Accused Usman Mirza denied that he did not take even 1 rupee, I have status, have property and business worth lakhs, I do not need to take money.
The investigating officer asked Usman Mirza who was making the video.
Accused Usman Mirza replied that accused Rehan was making video, he has been arrested.
The investigating officer told the court that the identities of the accused have been paraded and the plaintiffs have identified them.
The lawyer of the accused requested the court that the police is taking physical remand to show its performance, there was a medical order, we are not being allowed to meet, the court should allow the family to meet.
Accused Usman Abrar told the court that 10 days have passed, we are not being given clothes, we have not been allowed to take a bath.
The accused’s lawyer told the court that the police themselves said that the recovery was from another accused.
Farhan and Ata-ur-Rehman pleaded that nothing was recovered from us and they should be sent to jail.
The defense counsel requested the court to grant bail to the accused Farhan and Hafiz Ata-ur-Rehman. The accused Farhan and Hafiz Ata-ur-Rehman have nothing to do with the incident. No progress has been made despite the lapse of 10 days. Judicial if not discharged.
Objecting to the statement of the defense counsel, the plaintiff’s counsel Hassan Javed said that progress has been made during the physical remand of the accused. During the physical remand, all the four accused admitted that they were present at the time of the incident.
The court extended the physical remand of the four accused in the case for three days.
