QUETTA: The Meteorological Department has forecast torrential rains in Balochistan from Monday to Thursday, after which the PDMA has directed precautionary measures in the districts.
According to details, PDMA has issued alerts for 13 districts in Balochistan following the forecast of torrential rains from Monday to Thursday.
The PDMA has written to the Deputy Commissioner of the districts, instructing them to take precautionary measures, saying that there is a danger of flooding and flood situation in the canals in the districts.
The PDMA directed the citizens to stop unnecessary travel, dams and waterways and said that heavy machinery should be prepared in the districts and attendance of staff should be ensured.
On the other hand, a new monsoon is likely to start in some districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Rains are likely in KP from Sunday night to Wednesday.
The PDMA has issued a letter to the district administration and all the agencies stating that the local population is likely to be affected due to the increase in the flow of water in the rivers, including floods in Mansehra, Balakot, Abbottabad, Swat, Kohistan and Mardan. There is danger.
The PDMA said in a letter that floods were expected in the rainwater drains of Charsadda and Kohat while urban flooding was feared in Peshawar and Nowshera.
The Meteorological Department said that heavy rains could affect communications and landslides in the upper areas.
