Moscow: Russia offered to provide air bases to the United States.
According to a report by a foreign news agency, a Russian newspaper has claimed that during a meeting with US President Joe Biden in June, President Putin offered to give the US a base.
According to the Russian newspaper, the United States was told that it could use Russian air bases in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
According to the report, it will be possible for the United States to keep an eye on Afghanistan after the bases are provided by Russia. Russia also allegedly offered to provide air surveillance data.
It should be noted that Russia and the United States have been fierce opponents of each other for decades, despite the fact that this offer has been made.
On the other hand, Federal Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry, while talking on ARY News program ‘Question is this’, said that I do not think that Russia will offer a base to the United States.
Fawad Chaudhry said that looking at Russia-US relations, it does not seem that bases will be offered.
Last month, US President Joe Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin met in Geneva, after which the two presidents issued a joint statement calling the meeting meaningful.
The joint statement said that the two countries have proved that they can make progress towards achieving common goals even in times of tension.
The two presidents also said that cooperation between Russia and the United States would help reduce tensions and the threat of nuclear war.
