Karachi: Pakistan has been awarded the International Award for Emergency Response of the Department of Infectious Diseases.
According to ARY News, the National Institutes of Health was awarded the World Director Award, Pakistan was given the award at the FELTP Conference 2021.
The honor made Pakistan’s name known internationally

Head NIH Professor Amir Ikram said that the award is a global recognition of Pakistani expertise in epidemiology research, 82 field epidemiology training programs are underway in the world.
According to Prof. Amir Ikram, the world declared Pakistan’s FETP as ideal.
The head of the NIH said that the National Institutes of Health team performed well, adding that FETP is a system for timely diagnosis of infectious diseases.
He said the National Institutes of Health was working with the provinces to build capacity for epidemic surveillance.
