The Supreme Court has stayed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) from arresting Ijaz Jakhrani till the next hearing.
Progress has been made against Ijaz Jakhrani, advisor to Sindh Chief Minister on Prisons, for making assets in excess of his income.
The Supreme Court has extended the interim bail of Ijaz Jakhrani, advisor to prisons in the NAB inquiry into making assets in excess of income, till the next session.
The apex court remarked that a two-member bench could not hear the decision of the two-member bench.
A three-member bench may hear the appeal against the decision of the two-member bench, in which case several legal points have to be clarified.
Therefore, Ijaz Jakhrani’s bail application will be heard by a three-member bench.
The NAB prosecutor took the position that the application of Ijaz Jakhrani is not admissible at all.
On which Ijaz Jakhrani’s lawyer said that NAB had not issued any call up notice to Ijaz Jakhrani.
He further said that on June 24, 2021, the Sindh High Court rejected the bail and ignored the facts.
The court stayed the arrest of NAB till the next hearing and extended the interim bail of Ijaz Jakhrani till the next session.
