ISTANBUL (Reuters) – An eight-year-old boy drowned after falling from a slide in a swimming pool due to a minor negligence on the part of his parents.
The shocking incident took place at a swimming pool in the western Turkish city of Manisha, where eight-year-old Youssef and his parents went swimming. CCTV footage showed Youssef’s parents basking in the sun outside the swimming pool. And at that time the focus was not on his son.
Meanwhile, 8-year-old Yusuf slipped off a slide and fell into the water, trying to save his life due to his unbalanced balance, but unfortunately neither his parents nor any other swimmer saw him.
It wasn’t long before her parents, Sim and Engin Tiktas, realized that their child was drowning, and they quickly lost consciousness. Pulled out of the pool Medical personnel on the spot gave him first aid and he was shifted to a nearby hospital.
Yusuf’s condition was critical and he was admitted to the intensive care unit, where he was in a life-and-death struggle. Yusuf, who drowned on July 7, died on July 12 while undergoing treatment.
Doctors say that due to being in the water for a long time, the child’s brain did not get oxygen due to which the body could not communicate with the brain.
