New Delhi: Rs 4 lakh currency notes deposited for an elderly man’s operation in the Indian state of Telangana were eaten by rats.
The bizarre incident of rat attack took place in Mehboobnagar district of Telangana, India, where a man named Radia had collected Rs 200,000 to undergo an operation to get rid of his stomach cancer.
Every day, Radia brings vegetables from a nearby village and sells them in her area. Even in this age group, the elderly person makes a living on his own.
Life was going so well that all of a sudden he started having stomach pains. He got checked by a doctor and found out that he has stomach cancer which an immediate operation can save him from going to the brink of death.
The doctors told him that he had to spend Rs. 4 lakh for the operation. Radia started raising money for his treatment and even collected Rs. 200,000.
One day when Radia had a severe stomach ache, she opened the safe to go to the doctor to withdraw money, but when she opened the safe, Radia was stunned because the money in the safe had been squandered by rats.
The old man’s hopes were dashed when he saw the torn currency notes as the bank also refused to exchange the notes. However, the bank official advised Radio to go to the Reserve Bank of India. How will they be treated if they are not allowed to change?
