India beat South Africa to become T20 World Champions for the second time.

In the ICCT20 World Cup final, India defeated South Africa by 7 runs to become the world champions.

Chasing India’s 176 runs, the Proteas managed to score 169 runs by losing 8 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

Heinrich Klaas was South Africa’s standout player with a superb innings of 52 off 27 balls which included 5 sixes and 2 fours.

Quinton de Kock scored 39 runs, Tristan Stubbs scored 31 runs while David Miller scored 21 runs.

For India, Hardik Pandya took 3 wickets, while Arsdeep Singh and Jaspreet Bumrah took 2 wickets each. Akshar Patel also took a wicket.

India had earlier won the toss and elected to bat first, scoring 176 runs by losing 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

India’s first 3 wickets fell by 34 runs but then a good 72-run partnership between Virat Kohli and Akshar Patel brought the team back into contention.

Captain Rohit Sharma was out for 9 runs, Rishabh Pant was out for 0 and Surya Kumar Yadav was out for 3 runs.

Akshar Patel played a superb innings of 47 runs which included 4 sixes and 1 four while Virat Kohli was the most outstanding batsman who played a superb 76 runs.

Shivam Dubey dismissed for 27 runs

On behalf of South Africa, Keshav Maharaj and Nokia dismissed two players each, Rabada and Jensen a wicket each.

The final match of this big event is played at Kensington Oval Stadium in Barbados.

It should be noted that South Africa and India were unbeaten in major events prior to the final.
