Indian delegation leaves for 48th Toronto International Film Festival IG News

New Delhi, Sep 7 (PTI) India is all set to screen its films at the 48th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) starting on Thursday. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting gave this information.

The ministry said this year the focus will be on showcasing India as a hub of talent, content and entertainment.

The official Indian delegation to the prestigious film festival will be led by Prithul Kumar, Joint Secretary (Films), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India and Managing Director, National Film Development Corporation (NFDC).

Six Indian films have been selected for TIFF.

These films include Tarsem Singh Dhandwar’s ‘Dear Jassi’, Nikhil Nagesh Bhatt’s ‘Kill’, Karan Boolani’s ‘Thanks for Coming’, Kiran Rao’s ‘Lapata Ladies’, Jayant Digambar Somalkar’s ‘Sthal’ (A Match ) and ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ directed by Anand Patwardhan.

The press release informed that the film ‘Dil Hai Grey’, directed by Susi Ganesan, will be screened in the market section of the festival.

India’s participation at TIFF will also coincide with the inauguration of the India Pavilion, which has been designed by the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad.

TIFF will continue until September 17.
