IPL 2023: After starting the IPL 16 season with back-to-back defeats, Mumbai Indians finally got a thrilling first win. Mumbai, who were defeated by Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings respectively, finally won the victory medal against the home team by 6 wickets in today’s match held at Delhi. On behalf of Mumbai, hit man Rohit Sharma also completed his 41st half-century in the tournament after almost 22 IPL innings. Also, Telugu player Tilak Verma (41) also excelled once again. The middle order batsmen also played their role in this match which lasted till the last ball.
But Delhi Capitals, who batted first, were bowled out for 172 runs. David Warner, who came as an opener for Delhi, scored his 57th IPL half-century with 51 runs, and Akshar Patel also scored his first IPL half-century. But Firdvi Shah, who came with Warner, took the pavilion for 15 runs. Manish Pandey who came later got out after scoring 26 runs. Then Yash Dul(2), Rovman Powell(4) and Lalit Yadav(2) joined the pavilion. Akshar, who came later, scored 54 runs in 25 balls and turned back. Later, Warner also lost his wicket as he was caught out at 51 runs. Those who came later also did not perform well.. they got out immediately. With this, the team’s total score reached 172. Coming into the ring with a target of 173 runs, Mumbai scored two runs in the last ball and achieved their first victory in a thrilling manner. On behalf of Mumbai, openers Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan gave a good start to the team. However, Delhi fielders separated the duo by running out Ishan (31) at Mumbai’s score of 71 runs in 7.3 overs. But the Telugu boy Tilak Verma, who joined Rohit later, scored 41 runs off 29 balls and turned back. Then came Surya Kumar Yadav(0) who once again disappointed. Soon Rohit also turned back with 65 runs. But Tim David, who came to the crease as middle order players, played unbeaten with 13 and Cameron Green 17 runs and brought the team to victory. Tim David scored 2 runs off the last ball to give Mumbai the win.
