Islamabad (92 News) – Finance Minister Ishaq Dar met President Arif Alvi. The Finance Minister gave a briefing on the country’s economic situation.
The meeting held at the Presidential Palace in Islamabad lasted for 20 minutes. According to the sources, in the meeting between the two important personalities, PTI’s demand for early elections and the views of government allies were discussed. In the meeting, President Dr. Arif Alvi put forward Imran Khan’s position regarding early elections. The future of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assemblies was also discussed.
According to sources, the economic situation of the country was also discussed in the meeting. A consultation was also held on adopting a new strategy in view of the negotiations with the IMF.
The Federal Finance Minister asked for political support to improve the economic situation, to which the President responded positively. The Federal Minister of Finance also put before the President the basic points of reducing the use of petroleum products and making changes in the transport system.
There was also a discussion on finding a solution to import problems for industries, adopting a joint strategy between the State Bank, private banks and FBR.
