The army said it would commence on the afternoon of 25 September and would be raised “as per the situation assessment” at midnight of 27-28 September.

On October 9, before the Jewish holiday of Sukkot, there will be another day-long shutdown.

After six days, another one-day shutdown will be imposed on account of the same holiday.

This year, the move comes at a sensitive time due to a growing number of conflicts between Israeli forces and Palestinians in the West Bank.
