Davangere.September 22: The state government is considering including Bhagavad Gita in the school curriculum. Also, there have been talks about bringing back the ancient education system and AIDSO has requested the government to stop its actions. AIDSO State Secretary Ajay Kamat has given a press statement on this, the ancient education system deprived the majority of people including the poor, Dalits, oppressed and women of the country from education for centuries. Education should be scientific, secular and democratic was the wish of all the great people of the Renaissance and freedom movement. But on the contrary, the government, which is going to introduce religious ideas in education by proposing to teach Bhagavad Gita in the name of moral education, is denying the wishes of all these great people. The government, which had taken the stand that religion should not come into education in the matter of hijab, now decided to bring Bhagavad Gita in the curriculum, is a double policy of the government. Puja Nandihalli, district secretary of AIDSO, said that Ajay Kamat has called upon the students and intelligent people of the country to raise their voices against the government.
