Relations between India and Canada have become tense due to the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Meanwhile, a big claim of former RAW officer GBS Sidhu has come to light. He has said that Congress had brought forward Khalistani terrorist Bhindranwale to scare Hindus. Indira Gandhi, her son Sanjay Gandhi and Kamal Nath used to send money to Bhindranwale.

A video of former RAW officer GBS Sidhu’s NIA podcast has surfaced. In this he claimed, “Indira Gandhi had lost the elections after the Emergency. After this, Giani Zail Singh started Operation-1 to create differences between Akali Dal and Janata Party alliance. Under this, these people decided to bring a great saint. This will be someone who will accept our words and criticize the policies of Akali Dal. After this the Janata Party will also say something. GBS Sidhu has further said that Giani Zail Singh, Sanjay Gandhi, Indira Gandhi and Kamal Nath were working for this. All this was going on from Indira Gandhi’s office on Akbar Road and her house at 1-Safdarjung. These people started doing all this by linking Bhindranwale with Khalistan. Their aim was to use Bhindranwale to scare Hindus. With this an issue of Khalistan was created which did not exist at that time.
Exposing the planning of the then Congress leadership, especially Indira Gandhi, Sanjay Gandhi and Kamal Nath, the former RAW officer has said that their conspiracy by raising the issue of Khalistan was that the people of the country would think that the integrity of the country is in danger. This will give them political benefit.
Quoting the book ‘Beyond the Line’ by former High Commissioner of India in Britain and famous writer Kuldeep Nayyar, he said that he had once talked to Kamal Nath about Bhindranwale. Then, Kamal Nath had said that he is looking for a high profile and tough saint. Who can spread our words. For this, Kamal Nath had interviewed two saints. A saint was very humble. But it was exactly what Bhindranwale wanted.
GBS Sidhu has further claimed that Kamal Nath had also told Kuldeep Nayyar that he, Sanjay Gandhi and his team members were also giving money to Bhindranwale. Those people who were part of Operation-1 were involved in sending money to Bhindranwale. This means that not only Kamal Nath and Sanjay Gandhi but also Giani Zail Singh and Indira Gandhi were involved in giving money to Bhindranwale. That means Congress itself was projecting Bhindranwale.
Confirming that the Khalistan issue has been brought up by the Congress, he claimed, “Bhindranwale had never demanded Khalistan. He only used to say that if Bibi, meaning Indira Gandhi, puts Khalistan in my bag, I will not say no. “Bhindranwale was not used for religious sermons but to serve political purposes.”
