Govt allots space to Maratha panel set up for issuing Kunbi caste certificates

Space has been allotted to the committee formed to determine the SOP for issuing Kunbi caste certificates. The Government of Maharashtra has allotted space on the 7th floor of the State Secretariat, Mantralaya, to the Justice Sandeep Shinde (Retd.) Committee to hold meetings. The government has even appointed staff for the constituted committee. Which consists of 20 members including an officer of the rank of Additional Secretary and desk officers.

What is the matter?

The state cabinet had decided to issue Kunbi caste certificates to those Marathas from the Marathwada region who have Nizam era revenue or education documents. Grouped under Other Backward Class (OBC) category in Maharashtra identify as Kunbi.
