Nearly 100 people living around a firecracker factory in Madhya Pradesh’s Madhya Pradesh district blocked a road near it for an hour on Saturday, demanding that the remains of the ravaged unit be removed immediately.
The explosion and subsequent fire on Tuesday, February 6, killed 13 people and injured more than 200.
Locals have complained of a strong stench in the area due to chemical debris.
They also demanded the permanent closure of two more firecracker factories of accused Rajesh Agrawal, who is in judicial custody, which were closed on the outskirts of Harda town.
The locals demanded that the house of the accused, which is located near the vegetable market in the center of the city, be attached and dismantled by the firecracker that he had set on its ground floor.
