An 18-year-old is facing multiple charges in connection with a series of incidents Thursday afternoon in the east end of a London, Ontario, city that began as a vehicle test drive and turned into a collision and theft of another. Tried vehicle, say police.
Police say they responded at around 4:50 p.m. in the area of Highbury Avenue and Trafalgar Street, when an eastbound car collided with a red light and collided with another vehicle.

Police say the suspect fled the vehicle with his female friend and attempted to open the doors of several other vehicles that were stopped at a red light in Trafalgar.
“After several unsuccessful attempts, the suspect opened a car door and attempted to remove the driver from the vehicle,” police said in a statement.

Police said that the eyewitnesses present at the spot caught the man till the police reached the spot.
According to investigators, the suspect was allegedly taking the vehicle out for a test drive after it was posted on an online buy-and-sell site.
The owner of the vehicle and a family member were also in the vehicle at the time of the accident, and police allege that the suspect was speeding into oncoming traffic in east London before the collision.

No casualties have been reported in the incident.
An 18-year-old London man faces charges of dangerous driving, failure to stop at the scene, robbery and assault with intent to commit theft, and driving a motor vehicle without a licence.
He remained in custody till Friday afternoon, when he was to appear in court.
