Balurghat: Again in Anganwadi center in Asantosh district. Locals joined the protest complaining of poor quality of food and irregular attendance of teachers. The parent Priya Das complained that for a long time the teacher of the Anganwadi center was irregular and came late. Also low quality food is served. Even if told to the teacher, she does not listen, moreover the locals are bad mouthed. That’s why they protested that day. However, the allegations of molestation have been denied. Varnali Maitra, an Anganwadi center teacher, has denied the allegations against her. He said, ‘When he came to the Anganwadi center, he was harassed in various ways.’ The police of Balurghat police station and Subhash Sarkar, deputy head of Danga village panchayat, went to the spot after receiving the information. Subhash Sarkar said that he will look into the complaints of the locals. The matter will be reported to the BDO of Balurghat. The police have assured to look into the whole matter.
