Chapter 11, verse 12
12.
Divi Suryasahasrasya
Bhavedyugapadutthita |
Yadi bha: sadrshi sa syat
Bhasastasya Mahatmana: ||
Meaning: If lakhs of suns rise in the sky at once, their light can match the brilliance of the Supreme Personality of Godhead in the universe.
Commentary: It is not possible to describe what Arjuna sees. But Sanjay gives parables to make Dritharashtra understand. Both Dhritarashtra and Sanjay were not present in Kurukshetra battlefield. But they are able to see what is happening due to the grace of Vyasadeva. In this way, Sanjay compares what he understands i.e. cosmic light to be like the light of thousands of suns.
