CR Kesavan, the great grandson of veteran Rajaji, who recently joined the BJP, met Prime Minister Modi on Wednesday. At that time Na was working as a cook in his house. Subbulakshmi handed over a letter to the Prime Minister expressing her happiness at getting a house. Pratham published the letter in his tweet.
Subbulakshmi wrote the letter with her own hand and sent it to the Prime Minister along with a picture of her home. In it he mentioned as follows: I am living in Tiruvedakam, Vadipatti Taluka, Madurai District. I belong to Very Backward Schedule (Drinker) community. I was working as a cook at Rajaji’s grandson C.R. Kesavan’s house in Chennai while I was struggling to earn my daily income. I applied to build a house in 2021 under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana ‘Housing for All’ in a vacant lot in my hometown. Out of which Rs. 2.10 lakh received in four installments. I have built a house with this. This house is the first concrete house of our generation.
Through this house we have gained a value and respect in the society. We have benefited a lot and started living a dignified life. The main reason for this is the governance system and programs led by them. In the letter, he said that he is praying to God on behalf of his family for the development of the people of the country through such projects.
Prime Minister Modi said in his Twitter post: When he met former Prasar Bharathi Board member C.R. Kesavan, Purium N. was cooking in his house. He had given a moving letter written by Subbulakshmi. In it N. Subbulakshmi faced numerous challenges including financial crisis and applied for the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme and got the house. He shared photos of his home and offered his thanks and blessings. Such blessings are a source of great strength. By Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme N. Like Subbulakshmi, the lives of countless people have changed. A house has brought qualitative change in their lives. Pratham is proud that this project is a pioneer in the development of women empowerment.
