A father and son died at the same time on the spot due to the friction of a high tension power line near Mamallapuram.
Kothandan (42) hails from Vadakadambadi village next to Mamallapuram in Chengalpattu district. He is working as a fitter in a private company in Alatur near Tiruporur. Her son, Hemanathan (10), is studying in Class 6 at Mamallapuram Government Higher Secondary School.
In this case, today Kothandan went to the store with his son from his house to buy a can of water for his household needs. While coming on a two-wheeler through the field road to reach the watercan shop on the main road, a high voltage power line was cut from a height of 4 feet and was hanging in the distance.
While crossing the road, Godandan and Hemanathan, father and son, who were on a two-wheeler, got hit by an electric wire. In this, he was electrocuted on the spot Both father and sonDied tragically. After disconnecting the power supply, they recovered both bodies and took them to Pooncheri Government Hospital. The doctors who examined them then said that both were already dead. After that, the bodies were sent to Chengalpattu Government General Hospital for postmortem.
