In the survey, an attempt was made to know the opinion of the people on the party line as well. Among the supporters of BJP and its allies, 70 percent consider Manipur violence as caste violence while only 18 percent say that it is a law and order issue. 40 percent of the supporters of the Congress and its allies are considering it as an issue of caste violence and 36 percent of law and order. Among the neutral people, 51 percent considered it as caste violence and 31 percent as a law and order issue.
9,679 adults were included in the survey conducted from July 22 to 27 through the CATI (Computer Assisted Telephone Interview) system.
