'It was just...': Mithun Chakraborty's daughter-in-law Madalsa Sharma denies reports of his hospitalization

New Delhi: Veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty’s recent hospitalization in Kolkata has raised concerns among fans as reports of chest pain and discomfort have been doing the rounds. However, his family has now released a statement clarifying the situation amid the viral rumours.

Mithun Chakraborty’s family clarifies

Mithun’s son Mimoh and daughter-in-law Madalsa Sharma dismissed reports of chest pains and called the hospital visit a routine check-up. In an interview with Telly Chakkar, Madalsa pointed out, “Whoever is spreading these rumours, it was just a routine checkup.”

Hospital authorities confirmed that Mithun was indeed admitted to the Apollo Hospital in Kolkata after he felt unwell, citing a stroke. However, fans have been assured that the actor is in a stable condition, conscious and well oriented and receiving the necessary medical attention.

Mithun Chakraborty should get the Padma Bhushan

Due to these health concerns, the 73-year-old actor was recently named the recipient of the Padma Bhushan, India’s third-highest civilian award, which recognizes his contributions to the entertainment industry. Expressing his gratitude, the actor took to social media to express his gratitude and expressed his fans’ support.

Apart from his illustrious film career which includes acclaimed performances in films such as Disco dancer, Agneepathand Home and Temple, Mithun also ventured into politics. He joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2021 and served as an MP for a short time.

On the professional front, Mithun’s latest project, Kashmir files, directed by Vivek Agnihotri, won critical acclaim for its depiction of the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits. Released in March 2022, the film featured Mithun in a pivotal role alongside Pallavi Joshi and Anupam Kher.
