New Delhi, September 26 (Language) Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on his 91st birthday on Tuesday.
Congress leader Singh was born in 1932. He was born in Gah village of Punjab which is now part of Pakistan. Singh served as Prime Minister from 2004 to 2014.
Modi wrote on the social media platform ‘X’, “Happy birthday to former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh ji.” I wish him long life and good health.
Singh served as the Finance Minister in the government led by then Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao from 1991 to 1996. He is credited with being the chief architect of the economic reforms undertaken by the government.
Singh is currently a member of Rajya Sabha. He has been ill for some time.
