More racks to arrive for Metro-3 – Bombay News IG News

MUMBAI: One more rake (four coaches) arrived in Mumbai on Friday for Mumbai’s first ever underground metro (Colaba-Sipz).
On Tuesday, the first rake reached Mumbai in 13 days, while this rake took 10 days to come from Andhra Pradesh. These two rakes (eight coaches) will now be tested at the sites prepared by MMRC after the work of assembling all the spare parts is completed.
On-track testing of both the racks will be carried out at the temporarily constructed sites after the new train is fully tested, an MMRCL official said. The racks designed for Metro-3 weigh about 168 tonnes, with each coach weighing 42 tonnes.
