Politics MP EV: Saurabh Soni, Bhopal. The Madhya Pradesh government is formulating a new EV (electric vehicle) policy. The old rulebook was valid for five years and over time there were many changes. In view of this, the Department of Urban Development and Housing is preparing a draft of the new policy by meeting with companies that manufacture electric vehicles, transporters and experts.
Madhya Pradesh The electric vehicle policy will focus on promoting e-vehicles widely and making the country a preferred destination for electric vehicles by ensuring the availability of e-vehicle infrastructure. At the same time, initial incentives will be arranged for electric bicycles, two-wheelers, three-wheelers, four-wheelers, buses and trucks.
Special incentives such as loan interest discounts, license, registration and toll discounts and vehicle scrapping incentives will apply to these vehicle categories. A capital subsidy will be awarded for charging stations and battery replacement. A flat grant will also be provided for the installation of private charging points in new/renovated buildings.
The government is studying the central policy
The central government policy is also being studied for the new electric vehicle policy. department of transport Coordination is also taking place so that there will be no problems with the implementation. An action plan is also being prepared for the availability of charging stations for electric vehicles in urban areas of the country.
A meeting was also held in June 2023 regarding the electric vehicle policy, at which the draft policy was recently discussed. The electric vehicle policy also proposes a pilot project with technology assessment for e-truck, e-tractor and other categories of vehicles.
Networks of slow and fast chargers will be installed in government offices and public places. Single windows will be established for the successful implementation of the electric vehicle policy.
