In view of this, the Department of Urban Development and Housing is preparing a draft of the new policy by meeting with companies that manufacture electric vehicles, transporters and experts.

Special incentives such as loan interest discounts, license, registration and toll discounts and vehicle scrapping incentives will apply to these vehicle categories. A capital subsidy will be awarded for charging stations and battery replacement. A flat grant will also be provided for the installation of private charging points in new/renovated buildings.
