Earlier, Chhagan Bhujbal had alleged that the BJP government has sidelined issues like unemployment, price rise and farmer suicides. To cover up these issues and to gain in the elections, the BJP government is bringing the incidents of Love Jihad to the fore.
Earlier in the assembly, NCP leader from Nashik district Chhagan Bhujbal spoke about the farmers’ distress and questioned the Centre’s policy on onions. He said that one of the biggest onion wholesale markets in the state is in my constituency. As per available information, there is a huge demand for Indian onions in countries like Turkey, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Morocco, Uzbekistan and Belarus. We should export onions so that our farmers are benefited from it, Chhagan Bhujbal said that many international traders have complained that the Indian government is arbitrarily banning or removing onion exports. So, they are not willing to buy onions from us. There is no continuity in our policy. He had said that I urge the state government to talk with people in Delhi, probably Piyush Goyal (Union Commerce Minister), but ensure that farmers do not suffer.
