The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh each on listed terrorists Harvinder Singh Sandhu alias Rinda and Lakhbir Singh Sandhu alias Landa. This amount will be given to those who provide information about them. The agency has announced a cash reward of Rs 5 lakh each for anyone providing information about three associates of terrorists, Parminder Singh, Satnam Singh and Yadvinder Singh. All of them are associated with Babbar Khalsa International.
Who is Lakhbir Singh Landa?
Terrorist Lakhbir Singh Landa is the mastermind of the RPG attack in Punjab. Earlier, NIA had announced a reward of Rs 15 lakh against Landa. Lakhbir, a resident of Harike village in Tarn Taran district of Punjab, is currently hiding in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The NIA had registered a case against him on August 20 last year under sections 120B, 121, 121A of the IPC and sections 17, 18, 18-B and 38 of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) 1967 for his involvement in illegal activities in different parts of the country. Case was registered. Lakhbir Singh Landa had fled to Canada in 2017 after being accused of murder, attempt to murder and being named in the NDPS. In 2021, his name came up in the murder of two Akali workers in Patti, Amritsar. Lakhbir is the mastermind of RPG attacks in Mohali and Tarn Taran, Punjab.
NIA has attached the property
The property of Lakhbir Singh Sandhu has been attached. The special court of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in RC-37 had ordered the attachment of the property of the accused located in village Kirian of Tarn Taran. Now a board has been installed there. Now this property will not be able to be bought or sold. On July 27, he was declared a fugitive.
