Children are usually waiting for vacation or even asking for vacation. But in the Gujarat High Court, the professors and other staff of Gandhinagar-based Children’s University have filed a petition seeking vacation. The staff of the Children’s University said in the application that they did not get vacation even though the teaching work was completed. The petitioners demanded an immediate hearing in this regard. However, the HC refused an immediate hearing.

Request to grant vacation as per UGC rules

The professors and other staff of Children’s University of Gandhinagar, in a petition in the High Court, said that according to the UGC rule, 8 weeks of vacation is to be given in a year. UGC has directed to grant 5 weeks summer vacation and 3 weeks Diwali vacation. However, vacation is not given by the university.

Asked to present at the university

In regard to the petition of the professor and other staff of the Children’s University, the High Court asked the petitioners to confront the petitioners and present the university. Apart from this, the court said that the petitioners can take leave and go on vacation if they feel the need. The High Court refused to hear the petition immediately.
