- Railways equipped 2700 locomotives with Real Time Train Information System equipment
- Due to this new technology, train related information will be updated every 30 seconds
- Technology developed in collaboration with ISRO : Passengers will get all the information
Now people will be able to get the latest updates of the running trains moment by moment. Keeping in view the convenience of the public, Railways has installed Real Time Train Information System (RTIS) equipment for 2700 locomotives. Along with this, train related information will be updated every 30 seconds. This technology has been developed in collaboration with ISRO.
RTIS will update every 30 seconds
According to the Indian Railways, Real Time Train Information System (RTIS) technology has been equipped in the engines so that people can get information about the time of arrival and departure of trains at stations including train arrival, departure, rehearsal. These trains can also prepare tables on control charts in the Control Office Application (COA) system. Not only that, RTIS will provide updates including running trains every 30 seconds.
Passengers will get automatic train charting and instant information
21 electric loco sheds across the country have been equipped with RTIS equipment for 2700 engines. As part of the second phase roll out, another 6000 engines will be installed in 50 loco sheds using ISRO’s SATCOM hub. Currently around 6500 locomotives (RTIS and REMMLOT) are being loaded directly into the Control Office Application (COA). This will allow passengers to get automatic train charting and instant information.
