During the hearing, Justice Khanna told Additional Advocate General SV Raju that you cannot debate whether hate speech vitiates the atmosphere or not. The court said, “Mr. Raju should ensure that the officers and the government system take all steps so that there is neither hate speech nor violence anywhere. We have to maintain law and order. This is a police matter.”
In the order, the court said, “We hope that the government and police officers will ensure that there is no hate speech against any community, no violence, and no damage to any property. Adequate security arrangements should be made wherever necessary, with the help of CCTV cameras and video recording of demonstrations in sensitive areas should be done and kept safe.
