OPP charges second man with attempted murder in connection with Wasaga Beach burglary – Barry IG News

A second man, this man from Barrie, Ontario, has been charged with attempted murder in connection with an incident in Wasaga Beach a year earlier.

On February 2, 2022, at approximately 10 p.m., the Huronia West OPP located a man with life-threatening injuries at an address on River Road East in Wasaga Beach.

The victim was taken to the Toronto Trauma Center and has since been in recovery.

On Wednesday, the OPP charged Munthir Rasheed Saleem, 30, of Barrie with attempted murder, forcible confinement, breaking and entering and possession of a dangerous weapon.

It follows February 8, 2023, when police charged Calend Cote, 20, of Toronto, with attempted murder, forcible confinement, breaking and entering and possession of a dangerous weapon.

Salim remains in custody following a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood on Wednesday.
