Orillia OPP arrests 60-year-old for alleged impaired driving after rollover collision – Barrie IG News

Members of the Orillia, Ontario, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachment have arrested a 60-year-old man on charges of impaired driving following a motor-vehicle collision on Highway 12.

On March 28, just after 11:00 p.m., police responded to reports of a motor vehicle collision where the vehicle left the roadway in Ramara, Ontario.

OPP say the driver was arrested for alleged impaired driving and taken to a local hospital for observation.

Police say the driver is currently a restricted driver and is on a probationary order not to operate a motor vehicle.

As a result, the 60-year-old driver from Brechin, Ontario, has been charged with operating while under the influence of alcohol and drugs, operating when prohibited and failing to comply with probation.

The accused was scheduled for a bail hearing Wednesday at the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie.

The OPP says this is the third collision involving bad drivers in two days.

The Orillia OPP is reminding anyone who uses narcotics to find an alternative to driving a motor vehicle or vessel, calling a cab, ride share service, friend or family.
