Ramesh Agarwal, father of Oyo Hotels founder Ritesh Agarwal, died under suspicious circumstances on Friday. Ramesh Agarwal died after falling from the 20th floor of a building in Gurugram. Oyo spokesperson and Gurugram police have confirmed the death of Ritesh Agarwal’s father. Ritesh Agarwal has also issued a statement saying that his father has passed away. He has urged people to maintain privacy.
Gurugram’s DCP East Virendra Vij said that Ramesh Agarwal, father of Oyo founder Ritesh Agarwal, died after falling from the 20th floor of DLF The Crest building in Sector 54, Gurugram. The report was registered under section 174 of CrPC. A team along with SHO Sector 53 has visited the spot. After the postmortem, the dead body has been handed over to the relatives.

According to the DCP, the information about the incident was received at around 1 pm. When the police reached the spot, it was found that Ramesh Agarwal had died due to falling from the 20th floor of the building. He fell from the balcony of his house, due to which he died. According to the police, his wife, son Ritesh Agarwal and new daughter-in-law were present inside the house at the time of the incident.
Ritesh Agarwal married Geetansha Sood on March 7 this week. This incident has happened just three days after the marriage. Ritesh Agarwal has issued a statement on his father’s death. He said that it is with a heavy heart that I and my family want to inform that my father Ramesh Agarwal passed away on March 10. He lived a full life and inspired me and many of us every day. His demise is a great loss to our family. We request everyone to respect our privacy during this time of grief.
