Dehradun, September 25 (Language) This time, a copy of Bhagavad Gita and Ganga water will be given as gifts to the pilgrims coming from Pakistan during the annual Urs starting from Tuesday at Piran Kaliyar Sharif Dargah in Haridwar district of Uttarakhand.
Uttarakhand Waqf Board Chairman Shadab Shams gave this information. The thirteenth century Sufi saint of the Chishti tradition, Alauddin Ali Ahmed or Sabir Pak, is revered by Hindus and Muslims alike. His Dargah is situated in Kaliyar village on the banks of Ganga in Roorkee area.
Shams told that this time 110 devotees from Pakistan are coming to the Urs of the Dargah. He told that pilgrims from Pakistan come to Piran Kaliyar Sharif every year but this year for the first time they will be given Bhagavad Gita and holy Ganga water as gifts.
Shams said, “The State Waqf Board and Kaliyar Sharif Management Committee will jointly give these gifts to the pilgrims coming from Pakistan and request them to hand over these sacred souvenirs of Devbhoomi to the priests and Mahants of the temples in their country.” ‘
He said that on the occasion of Urs, former Chief Ministers of Uttarakhand Harish Rawat and Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank are likely to participate in the program.
