Passenger opened emergency door on Chennai to Trichy flight.. Inquiry ordered..! IG News

Directorate General of Air Traffic Control (DGCA) has ordered a proper investigation into the matter of a passenger opening the emergency doors of an IndiGo flight from Chennai to Trichy.

On December 10, an IndiGo flight was ready to fly from Chennai to Trichy. Passengers were boarding the plane. A passenger allegedly opened the emergency doors by mistake. The flight crew immediately noticed this and informed the higher authorities.

Immediately the emergency door was fitted properly. The aircraft was pressure tested. All mandatory engineering tests were also carried out. The flight was then allowed to take off. Due to this, the flight was delayed by about 42 minutes. This incident which took place last month has only now come to light.

The Indigo company, which issued a statement in this regard, said that the concerned passenger had apologized to them for opening the emergency doors. In this case, the Air Traffic Control Directorate DGCA has ordered to inquire what happened in this matter and submit the investigation report. It also said that no compromise has been made on aviation safety.
