Popular Front of India (PFI) activists on Thursday protested the raids on their organisation’s offices, leaders’ homes and other premises by multiple agencies led by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for their alleged support to terror activities. Protests in Kerala. in country.
The organization also called for a morning-to-evening strike in the southern state on Friday to mark its strong protest against the Central Agencies Act.
The bandh was called by PFI General Secretary Abdul Sathar and other leaders after around 22 top leaders were detained and included their presidents OMA Salam, Nasruddin Elaram, P. Koya and many others.
Basic and essential services have been kept out of the bandh.
The raids were carried out with the help of central forces and there are reports that top officials of Kerala Police were informed but not told what exactly the mission was and some battalions of the force were asked to be on standby.
