Wardha. Plastic ban is being strictly implemented in the city. Despite this, businessmen are using restrictive plastic on a large scale. On behalf of the Health and Sanitation Department of the Municipal Council, 2 tons of plastic were seized while conducting raids at various places in the city.
During this, fines were recovered by taking punitive action. The government has banned the use of non-degradable plastic. Still plastic is being manufactured and used on a large scale.
The health and sanitation department of the city council had received secret information. Raid was conducted on this basis, while taking action against 3 shopkeepers in the market premises of the city, seized 2 tons of plastic. A fine of Rs 15,000 including Rs 5,000 has been collected from each shopkeeper.
This action was taken by department head Praveen Borkar, sanitation inspector Vishal Somvanshi, employees Lankesh Gondekar, Gurudev Hatwar, Sneha Meshram, Satish Padole under the guidance of Maharashtra Pollution Control Board’s Vatane.
