Poor driving counted against Salford, Ont. Woman in deadly Norwich Twp. Accident – London IG News

A 63-year-old Salford, Ont. The OPP says the woman is facing bad driving charges in connection with a fatal collision of two vehicles over the weekend in Norwich Township, in which one man died.

Emergency workers at the scene responded to reports of a pickup truck and an SUV crashing at the intersection of Oxford Road 13 and Norwich Road at around 6:35 pm on Sunday.

The driver and sole occupant of the SUV were taken to a hospital by air ambulance with life-threatening injuries where they were later declared brought dead.

Police have identified the driver of the SUV as 70-year-old Diane Hamuleki of Norwich Township.

The driver of the pickup truck was not injured, although police revealed on Wednesday that the 63-year-old woman from Salford has been charged with two offenses related to driving in a collision.

Police said the accused faces one each of the operations leading to impaired death and the operation when the blood alcohol content exceeds 80, besides one count of the dangerous operation causing death, Police said.

He is to appear in Woodstock’s court at a later date.
