He was accompanied by BJP leader Locket Chatterjee while submitting nominations. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and BJP’s all-India president JP Nadda were present in Parliament.

It may be mentioned that Draupadi Murmu is the candidate of NDA alliance in the presidential election. He was a former minister of Orissa and also the governor of Jharkhand. If elected, 84-year-old Draupadi Murmui will be the first indigenous person to be elected President of India. Draupadi has already got the support of the majority in the Electoral College.

The ruling NDA alliance on Tuesday announced the name of Orissa tribal leader Draupadi Murmur as its presidential candidate. If all goes well, Murmu is going to be a resident of Raisina Hills from a remote area of ​​Mayurbhanj in Orissa. Entering politics from a teacher, he is running for the presidency this time as a minister and governor.
