Prime Minister Imran Khan formed the Supreme Committee


After the defeat of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the first round of local body elections, Prime Minister Imran Khan became active.

The first meeting of the Supreme Committee has been convened in Islamabad today and will be chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Sources said that the meeting will decide the political course of action regarding the second phase of local body elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The meeting is also expected to take important decisions regarding the local body elections in Punjab.

Sources said that PTI will line up ahead of time for the next front of local body elections. In the meeting, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar, Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar, Local Government Minister Mahmood Rasheed, Senator Saifullah Niazi, Amir Kayani, Federal Ministers Fawad Chaudhry, Hamad Azhar and Shafqat Mahmood will also be present.

Sources said that Chief Minister Mahmood Khan from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser, Defense Minister Pervez Khattak and Communications Minister Murad Saeed will also attend the meeting.

Sources said that the meeting will review the candidates for the metropolitan constituency at the divisional headquarters in Punjab in the first phase.

Sources said that party candidates for mayors for Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad and Rawalpindi will also be considered in the meeting.

The sources further said that the meeting will consider the candidates for mayors of metropolitan constituencies in Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur and Sargodha.

The meeting will also consider the names of political figures for mayors in Gujarat and Sialkot, while formulating a strategy for the second phase of local body elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
