Karachi: Public and private load shedding across the country has made people’s lives miserable.
According to ARY News, the duration of load shedding in many cities of the country has reached 18 hours. The patience of the people in Karachi and Lahore has been overwhelmed.
Citizens protest against load shedding on Maripur Road in Karachi has been going on for 16 hours. Due to the protest, both tracks of Maripur Road have been closed. Queues of trucks and trailers have formed from My Kalachi Road, Boat Basin to Punjab Chowrangi.
Citizens protested against load shedding at more than a dozen places in Lahore yesterday. Power has been cut off in Sabzazar area of Lahore since last evening. Citizens protested in front of LESCO office.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has hinted at further increase in load shedding in July. Addressing the assembly members of PML-N and allied parties, the Prime Minister said that an agreement is going to be reached with the IMF, which has laid down strict conditions.
