The Election Tribunal (ET) of the Lahore High Court has ordered the Election Commission of Pakistan to produce Form 45 records related to Punjab Chief Minister Mariyam Nawaz.

The court has summoned the records for consideration as it challenges the CM’s success in the general elections.

Justice Anwar Hussain of the ET Court heard an appeal filed by Mehar Shafqat against Maryam Nawaz in PP 159 Lahore case.

When filing the application, the applicant claimed that the declaration of victory of Maryam Nawaz was contradictory to the facts and should be declared null and void.

During the proceedings, CM’s lawyers argued that the appeal was inadmissible.

Election Commission lawyers respond to Supreme Court judge’s question that 102 polling stations have been set up in the constituency.

The court judge asked why the Form 45 with the signatures of the superintendent and other applicants was not uploaded on the website.

The Election Commission’s attorneys requested time to produce the original Form 45 record, and the court granted the request.

The court has adjourned the case until the last week of July.
