At least 25 people fell into a well after the roof of Shri Beleshwar Mahadev Jhulelal temple in Indore’s Patel Nagar area collapsed.
Media reports said that the incident took place during Ram Navami festival celebrations.
An official said that a rescue operation has been launched to save the trapped people.
An eyewitness said that a large number of people had gathered on the roof of the ancient stepwell and it collapsed as it was unable to bear the weight.
