Shahu Maharaj Chhatrapati Cup tennis ball tournament was won by 16 runs in Ranada Sports Gymnasium Sports in Kolhapur (Ky.) in the final match which was held in the double ground which is known as Pandhari of tennis ball cricket. The final match was played under the floodlights in the presence of 5000 spectators. Morning sport was organized on the occasion of Amritmahotsavi birthday.

Meanwhile, Ranada Sports narrowly defeated Vedanta Sports in Kalamba by just 1 run in the first semi-final of the competition to enter the final. Batting first, Ranada Sports scored 57 runs in 7 overs. Only 56 runs could be scored for 8 balls in 7 overs. As a result, this team lost by 1 run. In the second semi-final match, Gymnasium Sports from Ichalkanrji defeated Avni Sports from Rendal by 3 wickets and entered the final. 40 runs were scored. Playing in reply, Gymnasium Sports won the match by scoring 41 for 7 in 7 overs.

The final match was played between Ranada Sports and Gymnanium Sports under floodlights and in the presence of over 5,000 spectators. Batting first, Ranada Sports scored only 41 runs for 6 balls in 7 overs. But while playing in reply, Gymnasium Sports could manage only 25 runs for 9 balls in 7 overs. Due to this, this team was defeated by 16 runs and the winner of the match, Ranada Sports, won the tournament. Mukesh Shinde took 3 wickets with the bowling and scored 15 runs with the bat to lead Ranada Sports to the title of the tournament. Taking note of this performance, he was honored as the man of the match.

In the prize distribution ceremony, the losing 2 teams in the semi-final round were honored with Rs.5000 each and Mukesh Shinde of Ranada Sports, who performed all-round in the entire tournament, was awarded as the hero of the series and gifted a gift voucher worth Rs.5000 along with Rs.5000. The best bowler of the tournament Prajyot Patil and the best batsman Lakhan Gagade were also honored with a prize of Rs 2 thousand 500 each. After this, the winner of the competition, Ranada Sports, was honored with a prize of 75 thousand rupees and a cup, while the runner-up Gymnasium Sports was awarded with a prize of 51 thousand and a cup. The teams accepted the prizes from the hands of former corporator Sharangdhar Deshmukh. On this occasion, 70 to 80 ex-cricketers of Kolhapur who graced the tennis ball cricket ground were also felicitated. Ex-Deputy Mayor Sanjay Mohite, Ex-Corporator Ishwar Parmar, Pratapsinh Jadhav, Mahesh Sawant, Sujay Potdar, Uday Jagtap, Chamber of Commerce President Sanjay Shete accepted the felicitation.
